Back again with a windy report! The wind has still been pumping. We seem to be having a weather year for sure in South east Louisiana . I moved from fishing Venice to Empire due to the water getting muddy from the wind and not wanting to fish the same old places . The fly fishing in Empire has been good for all sizes of red fish . We just got our first blast of cold weather so things should change for the better.

The wind has been relentless to say the least in south east Louisiana . The whole coastline from Hopedale down to Venice has been hammered with strong south east winds. The winds are making a lot of the areas we fish really muddy. With that being said we are still able to catch some great fish in the shallow grass areas and on wind blown flats that have clean water on them. I have dates open from Jan-April.
The weather has finally calmed down for 7 days now. The fishing from Hopedale , Port Sulphur and Venice have been on fire . We have been catching Jack's and big red fish. Ive been on tailing reds and big floaters in current where there are passes dumping out. When you can get the sun and wind to line up guiding clients to big fish gets real easy. If you come to New Orleans get a guided fishing trip to the mashes of South East Louisiana!
I just rolled back into Hopedale Louisiana from Florida. We are having one heck of a hurricane season. Today ,I fished Hopedale which is 30 min or so from New Orleans. The water was super high this morning but fell out good throughout the day. We had decent fishing but not on fire. We had several shots at Bull Reds but just missed them. We were able to to catch some slots on fly in shallow ponds . The sky was nice and blue with lots of sun. We shall see what tomorrow brings!
It was another great day in South east Louisiana . The fishing in Venice has been good. Today we had lots of wind and battled clouds but we were able to catch some good Red fish on Fly. I had to get really shallow to be able to see and the water is cleaner as well. I think the fall is going to be really great!
The Louisiana marsh was on fire today!! The wind was calm in the morning and the fish were schooled up on points and in the back coves. We were able to catch a lot of nice fish using a shrimp pattern fly. If you get the weather, you get good fishing!
Well as you can see the weather in the Louisiana marsh was sunny but cold. The wind blew northwest at 20mph all day. The fish seemed to be stacked in the back of clean water pockets that were shallow . It was a grind but we were able to catch some nice fish. Come fish Louisiana !!
We got a sunny day in the Louisiana marsh and was able to get on some nice red fish. We started out the mourning with low water with and incoming tide. We found all our fish supper shallow. The fish were in both clean and dirty water. Come fish Louisiana .
Finally got a few sunny days in the Louisiana marsh. The fishing was a little on the grind side but was able to get some good shots a some big fish and of course whack a few slots. The Louisiana marsh fishes year around you just have to hit the weather windows. Come fish Louisiana
We started our day in South Louisiana with a total fog in so to speak. We could hardly see the bow of the boat while running out to fish. We could not see due to the low light so we fished in some shallow flats with current and caught fish blind casting. The fog lifted and we were able to catch some nice fish floating in open water. If you are in New Orleans come fish the Louisiana marsh!
