Summer time in Florida is best for tarpon,
and you can't go wrong at any time of the year
for big redfish in Louisiana (I am there August-April chasing big fish).
Although you are more than welcome to bring your own rods and gear, I have all of the essentials to make your packing light. Countless number of fly rods, spin rods, flies, lures, reels, etc. If you do bring your own rod and reel please arrive with: 8-10wt rods with floating lines for reds and 11-12wt with floating lines for tarpon. Things you NEED to bring: polarized sunglasses (amber or copper lense color), rain gear, any food for lunch, and a fishing license @ 1-888-765-2602. Also, bring the mind set of expecting an awesome day on the water.

As stated on the homepage, my main focus is on two of the greatest saltwater species known to flats fishermen: Redfish and Tarpon. Both fish can be caught with the fly or with the spin rod, so whatever your preference is, we will make it happen. I love to fly fish and there's nothing like catching a big fish on the fly rod, so to all purist fly-fishermen, welcome! However, with this being said, the wind, weather, and time of year all play a part in being able to fly fish. Spin fishing with soft plastics will always be a viable option, whether wind, rain, snow, hurricane, nuclear warfare, or the works.

If flying, the best airport will be New Orleans Airport (hour and a half drive to the fishing areas).

Venice, called the ‘Sportfishing Capital of the World”, is a 90 minute drive south of New Orleans, and is on the edge of the Mississippi River delta. Watch our chef prepare fresh local fare in our open kitchen and dining area. We offer a complimentary bar as well as an outdoor seating to enjoy your morning coffee or evening libation and cigar. Upstairs your find a game/conference room where you can relax over a game of backgammon, checkers or chess or engage in a spirited game of boo ray, poker or other card games.

There is an additional widescreen TV in the game room so you’ll never miss a sporting event.  The game room can also serve as a conference room for business meetings or seminars as needed.
